    Free Legacy is born from a question

    Why is Colombian coffee so highly valued in other countries... while we ourselves are starting to forget about it?
    Although we grew up surrounded by coffee, for a long time we saw it the way many Colombians see it: an everyday drink, part of the landscape, something that was always there.

    Discovering specialty coffee changed everything

    Everything changed when Estefanía discovered the world of specialty coffee while preparing to travel to Australia. For the first time, she understood that behind a cup there were varieties, processes, sensory profiles, stories, and people who rarely reached the consumer.

    What began as curiosity turned into obsession

    For years, she shared that vision with her family, convinced that Colombian coffee deserved to be valued differently. The first person to believe in that dream was her sister Luisa. Later, Sebastián would join, driven by the same passion for quality and origin.

    It was all a process

    Together we embarked on a journey that led us to visit farms, meet coffee growers, and discover something that would forever transform how we understood coffee. During that process, Patio Bonito, an emblematic farm in Betania, Antioquia, entered the picture.
    There we understood that a legacy is not just inherited land. It is the knowledge passed down from generation to generation. It is the dedication of those who cultivate. It is the history that remains alive when someone decides to preserve it.

    We learned that the legacy lives on in people

    Over time, circumstances changed and the farm went its own way. But it also left a lesson that would end up giving our project its name. We understood that the legacy was not in a farm... The legacy is in the people: In the coffee growers who work each harvest with pride. In the families who have dedicated their lives to coffee. In those who believe that Colombia deserves to fall in love again with one of its greatest treasures.

    Thus Free Legacy was born

    Because we believe that every coffee grower deserves to have their story known. That every origin deserves to be valued. And that every cup can become an opportunity to bring people closer to true Colombian coffee once again.

    Today, we intentionally select micro-lots, work alongside passionate producers, and share coffees that express the character of their origin.

    What is specialty coffee?

    It is a coffee that has scored over 80 points out of 100 according to international standards. This means it has been carefully grown, processed, and roasted to highlight its best attributes and offer a unique experience in every cup.

    Which coffee should I choose?

    It depends on your preferences:

    Legado Tradición:     a sweet and balanced profile, ideal for those who enjoy classic flavors with fruity notes.

    Legado Espontáneo: more aromatic and complex notes, perfect for those who want to explore new profiles.

    Legado Natural: an intense, expressive coffee with a stronger presence of fruity notes.

    Can I order ground coffee?

    Yes. You can choose the grind that best suits your brewing method: espresso, V60, French press, moka, Chemex, among others.

    If you prefer to keep the coffee longer, we recommend buying it whole bean and grinding it just before brewing.

    That's why our coffees are only ground when you request it.

    How often do you roast your coffee?

    We roast frequently to ensure you receive fresh coffee at its best.
    All coffees have a varying freshness window, so we constantly monitor their quality and once it's flat, it's removed from stock.

    Do you ship nationwide in Colombia?

    Yes. We ship our products nationwide through allied transport companies.

    How long will my order take to arrive?

    Delivery times vary by city, but are typically:

    •⁠ ⁠Medellín and metropolitan area: 1 to 2 business days.
    •⁠ ⁠Major cities: 2 to 5 business days.
    •⁠ ⁠Remote municipalities: depends on carrier coverage.

    How do subscriptions work?

    You can choose the plan that best suits your consumption and receive coffee automatically every month, along with exclusive benefits for subscribers.

    What payment methods do you accept?

    We accept payments by debit card, credit card, PSE and other methods available on our payment platform.

    Credit card payments have an approximate surcharge of 4%

    What happens if there's a problem with my order when it arrives?

    If you receive an incorrect product or one with an issue, please contact us within the first 48 hours after receiving your order and we will gladly find a solution.

    Do you work directly with coffee growers?

    Yes. We work hand in hand with coffee growers committed to quality, seeking close and sustainable relationships that allow us to recognize the value of their work and each origin.

    Why do some coffees change during the year?

    Coffee is an agricultural product. Each harvest is different, which is why some profiles may vary slightly depending on the time of year, the farm, and the growing conditions. That is precisely one of the riches of specialty coffee.

    How should I store coffee?

    Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, heat, and humidity. We do not recommend refrigerating. Ideally, keep it in its original, tightly sealed packaging.
